3.   Details

Deutsche Börse Group will launch Release 12.1 of the T7 trading system on 13 May 2024. Please refer to the dedicated document “T7 Release 12.1 Final Release Notes” for a full overview of both the new and changed functional scope. The document is available on the Xetra website www.xetra.com via the link:

A.  Backwards compatibility

T7 Release 12.1 will provide backwards compatibility for the T7 ETI/FIX LF interface version 12.0, which means that even participants who do not want to use the new functionality will still be able to connect to T7 with the interface layout version 12.0 after the production launch of T7 Release 12.1.

The public market and reference data interfaces, including EOBI, EMDI, MDI, RDI/RDF, as well as reports and data files, will not provide backwards compatibility.

B.  Preparations for Friday, 10 May and Saturday, 11 May 2024

On Friday, 10 May 2024, T7 Release 12.0 will be in production for the last time. Reports for the business day 10 May 2024 can be expected at the usual time.

On Saturday, 11 May 2024, Deutsche Börse will convert the Cash Markets T7 production systems to Release 12.1 and initial reference data for business day 13 May 2024 will be available via RDI and RDF following the start of the system in preparation for the support window.

C.  Support window for T7 Release 12.1 on Saturday, 11 May 2024

The T7 Release 12.1 support window will be conducted on Saturday, 11 May 2024, between 15:00 and 18:00 CEST. Connectivity testing during the support window is strongly recommended for all participants and Multi-Member Service Providers to ensure connectivity for the start of trading on Monday, 13 May 2024. Please make sure that a staff member will be available to perform the login to the T7 production system (e.g. T7 Trader and/or Admin GUI and third-party applications).

At this time, the T7 production systems will be available for connectivity testing on the ETI, RDI, FIX LF, MDI, EMDI and EOBI interfaces and via T7 Admin-, T7 Clearer- and T7 Trader GUI. No order and quote entries will be possible.

The public key for ETI password encryption will be published on the Xetra website prior to the connection test under the path:

Please note that during the support window, at approximately 15:30 CEST, all products in the T7 production systems will be set to "Start of Day", providing participants with the opportunity to perform their regular start of day activities:

  • Market data:

After the start of day, product and instrument state change information messages are sent out. Thereafter, snapshots are sent out periodically (MDI, EMDI, EOBI) in addition to functional beacons or heartbeats via the incremental stream in EMDI and EOBI, respectively. Traders do not have access to the orderbook.

Please refer to the document “T7 Release 12.1 Market and Reference Data Interfaces Manual” (Section 9.12.0) for further details.

  • ETI and FIX LF:

–  In general, session and user logons are possible.
–  ETI: It is possible to send retransmission requests.
–  FIX LF: It is possible to send resend requests.
–  Orderbook management is not possible.
–  Orderbook restatement messages will be sent during Start of Day switch. Please refer to the documents “T7 Release 12.1 Enhanced Trading Interface Manual” (Section 4.7.11) and “T7 Release 12.1 FIX LF Manual” (Section 3.8.11) for further details.

During the support window, a message “Connection Test Xetra <hh:mm:ss>” or “Connection Test Börse Frankfurt <hh:mm:ss>”, respectively, will appear with an increasing sequence number in the market news view (news board) of the T7 Trader GUI and the T7 Admin GUI.

Deutsche Börse will inform participants about the general progress of the support window via implementation news on the Xetra website, available under the link:

Following the end of the support window, the T7 12.1 production system will be shut down on 11 May 2024 at 18:00 CEST and will be unavailable until Sunday evening.

MsgSeqNum’s in FIX LF

Please note that after the connection test, MsgSeqNum’s (inbound and outbound) will not be reset upon the next start of day/start of the FIX Gateway.

This point is documented in the T7 Release 12.1 FIX LF Manual in the section “5.10.2 Outage on T7 FIX LF Side”.

D.  Monday, 13 May 2024 – Production start

The first trading day with T7 Release 12.1 will start as usual.

Please note: As the system will be re-started Sunday evening after the connection test on Saturday, the initial reference data file for the business day 13 May 2024 will be re-generated. As the reference data provided on 11 May 2024 via RDI and RDF prior to the support window may potentially contain some changes, participants are required to use the initial reference data provided following the system start for 13 May 2024.

Orders entered until 10 May 2024 (end of trading) but not executed, will continue to be available on 13 May 2024, unless other validity restrictions were set.
