New iShares ETF on Xetra: DAX ESG Target Index with focus on sustainability and low carbon emissions

Anew exchange traded fund issued by iShares has been tradable on Xetra and Börse Frankfurt since Thursday.

The iShares DAX ESG UCITS ETF (DE) tracks the performance of the DAX ESG Target Index, with the aim of maximising the DAX index's ESG score while reducing its carbon intensity by at least 30 per cent. In doing so, the deviation in performance from the DAX index is to be kept low.

Standardised ESG exclusion filters are applied when selecting companies. This means that companies with significant business activities in the areas of weapons, thermal coal, tobacco, nuclear power, military contracting, and oil sands as well as those that violate the United Nations Global Compact are excluded from the index. The weighting of a stock is limited to a maximum of ten per cent.
