Designated Sponsor rating Quality seal for outstanding performance supporting liquidity

High quality standards (minimum requirements) are applied to Designated Sponsors in terms of liquidity provision. When making quotations Designated Sponsors must observe a maximum spread (difference between bid and ask price) and a minimum volume for quotes (minimum lot size applicable to both sides). Moreover they are obliged to adhere to a minimum quote duration.

Deutsche Börse has introduced a rating – as a kind of quality seal – to enable a comparison of the performance of different Designated Sponsors for shares. The rating takes into account a Designated Sponsor’s average quote duration, average spread and turnover. It covers shares from the Regulated Market and Scale.

The Designated Sponsor rating is calculated and published quarterly. In addition, Designated Sponsors receive a monthly rating report for every share they cover.
