Cash market trading volumes in April 2024


Deutsche Börse’s cash markets generated a turnover of €119.45 billion in April (previous year: €85.62 billion / previous month: €121.13 billion).

€115.82 billion were attributable to Xetra (previous year: €83.18 billion / previous month €117.16 billion), bringing the average daily Xetra trading volume to €5.52 billion (previous year: €4,62 billion / previous month: €5,86 billion). Trading volumes on Börse Frankfurt were €3.63 billion (previous year: €2.44 billion / previous month: €3.97 billion).

By type of asset class, equities accounted for €99.27 billion in the entire cash market. Trading in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs generated a turnover of €18.19 billion. Turnover in bonds was €0.75 billion, in certificates €1.19 billion and in funds €0.05 billion.

The DAX stock with the highest turnover on Xetra in April was SAP SE with €6.15 billion. Deutsche Lufthansa AG led the MDAX with €1.07 billion, while ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE led the SDAX index with €118.02 million. In the ETF segment the iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF generated the largest volume with €619.87 million.
