Cash market trading volumes in October


Deutsche Börse’s cash markets generated a turnover of €98.16 billion in October (previous year: €123.49 billion / previous month: €113.63 billion).

€96.02 billion were attributable to Xetra (previous year: €119.74 billion / previous month €111.11 billion), bringing the average daily Xetra trading volume to €4.57 billion (previous year: €5.70 billion / previous month: €5.05 billion). Trading volumes on Börse Frankfurt were €2.14 billion (previous year: €3.75 billion /previous month: €2.51 billion).*

By type of asset class, equities accounted for €78.75 billion in the entire cash market. Trading in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs generated a turnover of €18.29 billion. Turnover in bonds was €0.27 billion, in certificates €0.80 billion and in funds €0.05 billion.

The DAX stock with the highest turnover on Xetra in October was Linde plc with €3.99 billion. Commerzbank AG led the MDAX with €0.78 billion, while VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG led the SDAX index with €172 million. In the ETF segment, as in the previous month, the iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF generated the largest volume with €816 million.
