Business newsletter

February 2021

Dear reader,

we look back on a challenging year 2020. During our Annual Press Conference 2021 we, as a company, also had the opportunity to reflect upon the last year. The presentation of the 2020 preliminary financial results was held with a view to the medium-term growth strategy “Compass 2023”. In this context, environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors play a particular role for Deutsche Börse Group and can be considered as one of our most important growth drivers.  Did you miss the Annual Press Conference 2021 live broadcast? A recording of the event as well as the presentation are accessible via our newsletter.

The growing importance of ESG criteria was also a core topic at the digital Global Funding and Financing Summit (GFF) which took place from 2 to 4 February. Under the heading “An open eco-system for all” the event included panels exploring the growing relevance of ESG as well as of diversity and inclusion. You would like to receive more information about the GFF Summit? Then you are invited to have a look at our follow-up report on the event.

The year 2021 will also be marked by important anniversaries. For example, the MDAX turned 25 in January and is undergoing important changes in its methodology due to the upcoming DAX reform. The 20th anniversary of Deutsche Börse AG’s very own IPO is also a reason to celebrate. In our newsletter we take a look back at some events since 2001 that have not only influenced all of us, but also changed our way we live.

Last but not least: promoting the cultural sector and especially contemporary photography remains a highly important matter for us. For the first time, the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh) jointly awarded their newly established prizes for research and journalism in the field of photography. We would like to congratulate the winners Dr. Carolin Görgen and Stefan Vanthuyne. In addition, you can learn more about our new partnership with the Städel Museum in Frankfurt/Main in our newsletter.

I hope you enjoy reading our latest news.

Kind regards,
Oliver Frischemeier
