Business newsletter

November 2020

Dear reader,

Our medium-term growth strategy Compass 2023, recently presented at the Investor Day, lays out the strategic direction of Deutsche Börse for the coming years. The most important growth drivers include the latest capital market trends, such as the development from OTC to on-exchange trading, ESG, the increasing importance of the buy-side, the shift towards passive investing and the digitisation of the financial sector.

The acquisition of ISS, a leading provider of governance solutions, ESG data and analytics, has already set a first important Compass 2023 milestone. The move positions Deutsche Börse as a leading global provider of ESG data and analytics.

Did you miss the Investor Day live broadcast? A recording of the event as well as the presentation are both accessible via our newsletter.

We have received feedback on the DAX selection indices from more than 600 participants, including financial institutions, corporates, private respondents, as well as associations and interest groups. This allowed us to launch a well-founded DAX reform. Market participants will benefit from a simple set of rules in line with international standards and new qualification criteria for the German benchmark index, which tracks the largest listed companies on the German capital market. Details of the reform are outlined in this issue.

I hope you enjoy reading our latest news.

Kind regards,

Compass 2023: What’s the way forward?

Following the successful implementation of the last medium-term plan Roadmap 2020 we see a multitude of growth opportunities in the coming years. Key growth drivers are capital markets trends, which are addressed through our broad and diversified business model. In addition to continued secular net revenue growth, Deutsche Börse plans to increase the net revenue contribution from M&A opportunities going forward.
