Deutsche Börse Group

Business newsletter

February 2020

Dear reader,

Last week we published the preliminary figures for the fourth quarter and the full year 2019. Following a strong previous year, we succeeded in achieving further very solid growth in 2019. Moreover, the focus on external growth has come to fruition – with the acquisitions of Axioma and UBS’s Fondcenter. We will continue to consistently pursue our strategy during the current financial year.

The issue of sustainability remains an important component of this: currently, Deutsche Börse subsidiary Qontigo offers more than 100 ESG indices including, for example, a specifically designed Low Carbon index family. Our derivatives exchange Eurex can also look back on a successful first year in ESG trading on the European equity market. With the introduction of the new STOXX USA ESG-X futures contract, we now want to actively support market participants in their sustainable investment strategies beyond Europe. You will find details on these and other new products in this newsletter.

Last, but not least: happy birthday, Clearstream! Clearstream – a leading European supplier of post-trade services with assets under custody worth around €14 trillion and a comprehensive portfolio including collateral management and investment fund services – is turning 50 years old. The success of our subsidiary was only possible thanks to our valued customers and partners as well as our over 2,400 dedicated Clearstream colleagues around the world.

I hope you enjoy reading and discovering this edition of our newsletter!

Kind regards,
Mareike Sich
